INBA 18TH MAY 2006
"CIV ANNIVERSARY"

SORDID INBA 2006
What a great show!!!!! We just can't find the words to describe it by far the best Sordid show ever!!!! But there's no point of having a blog if you can't explain what you want to in words

The day before we knew that we were going to play our show with the back-line the CAA hired; Marshall JCM900 x 2 and Ampeg amplification for the bass, etc, etc. Somehow we knew that the sound wouldn't be a problem. On top of that we had invited Shawy, who is the sound engineer owner of the place we rehearse, to the show to be in charge of our sound, invitation he couldn't refuse.

At inba everything was in place and at our restroom only a few beers were waiting for us, we must say that it wasn't the catering we expected, no food, no water, no orange juice, bottled beer instead of cases of canned beer.

We were told we had to jump on stage at about 4 o'clock but the 1st band started playing at 4:15 and we were fourth!!! so we drank all our beer and went to buy some more. Our problem was the Shawy had to leave at 6pm to pick up his daughter from school at 6:30.

The first two bands played some metal covers; Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Guns'n'Roses, Metallica, Deftones, etc, etc, and the third played an amusing ska show that made everyone at inba dance and bounce.

Our time had come and it was almost 6 pm Shawy changed the position of some microphones and said goodbye to us he was already late but went to the control to make the sound. At that point mix-up crowd of young girls and students and former students from INBA started chanting UNDERTAKER UNDERTAKER UNDERTAKER, referring to our singer who, by the way, works at that school as an English Teacher.

We tried to play as fast as we could as we were told everything was late and we weren't going to be able of playing the whole set we prepared. One Big Twisted Fuck broke and the audience went crazy slam dancing, moshing, crowd surfing, jumping, bouncing, insane!!!!!

Demon!!! again translating it into Spanish as Angel made some of the young crowd laugh with horns up everywhere \m/...... Claudio didn't forget the lyrics this time but we got lost in the middle of the song, somehow we managed to finish the song, don't know if the audience realised about that...

Dedicated to the girls in the crowd came She Smiles And Says... everyone dancing and enjoying it, our sound seemed to improve song after song and although it was 6:15 we still could see Shawy at the back!!!! Then we played The Fall and and again as in the entire set those kids jumped and scream non stop. The gay couple who was presenting the show tried to kick us out of stage but we played one more song!!!!

Sordid finished their presentation with a classic but pimped version of Die Motherfucker!!! slower and heavier and those old fans of us who were there 2 years ago knew the lyrics or almost the chorus so they sang along "Die Motherfucker Die Motherfucker Die"

Everyone of us surely felt really happy after the show as finally we could play a show as we always wanted to. Those new songs worked perfectly and we have to thank Shawy for his job there we think that made the difference and we are still excited about the show.

From the comments we have heard about it people who was there really enjoyed it and think we are an excellent band and most of them liked our groovy style so there's no reason to stop doing what people like let's give them what they want!!!!!!!!!!!!

SORDID KICKED HUGE ASSES!!!!!!!!!!

SORDID, PIEDRA ROMEL

Last Friday May 12th, Sordid played their first show in almost 2 years!!! Everything took place at Notre Dame School in a musical festival called Piedra Romel, where bands that have any kind of connection with the school jumped on the stage and performed in front of the school community. Maybe ten bands played and we were the last one. Ruildo, his brother and Claudio arrive about 9 pm and the rest of the band showed up at about 10 pm. Thirsty, hungry, tired, nervous, annoyed, worried, etc., etc., we waited until about 11 pm. We were warned that maybe our show could be interrupted by a band from the 80's that I don't like that much, The Police!!! We had decided that the best thing we could do was to play all the new tracks first and then metallica's mix'em all and 2 tracks from DFF.

Most of the audience were teenagers, Notre Dame students and maybe their girlfriends, sisters, friends, mothers, and among them some of our fans. Claudio's nÂș1 fan was there, Claudia. Gordo's mate from St Valentine School, Cristian. Sordid's 6th member and womanizer, Gabriel. And as I mentioned before Ruildo's bro who was in charge of taking photographs.
About the show we opened it with One Big Twisted Fuck, but Gato decided that the original version was too long so he made up a new ending, then Demon, perfect! but with only one tiny little mistake, Claudio forgot almost the entire lyrics!!!, She Smiles and Says, excellent!!! and finally we played The Fall with some not that kind guys dressed in green waiting at the gate of the school to stop our show.

Incredibly good feeling of having done a great show and with an awesome response from the crowd those kids made us feel really good.

Let's wait for the comments this Monday at Notre Dame.........

Last Thursday we went to Shawy's and the rehearsal went out pretty good but we haven't decided the playlist yet. I think we are going to discuss that this weekend but I bet it would be mainly Sordid 2006 with 2 or 3 tracks from DFF demo. Gordo's fave seems to be Big Twisted Fuck but to me all new ones sound awesome!!! Gato is now filling in the new songs and what we heard last Thursday regarding to his drumming was pretty cool!!!! Ruildo couldn't play any heavier that's impossible I think you may give him a fucking charango and the bastard would make it sound heavy as hell. LTS is doing his job playing the bass but it is too damn clear that he does not enjoy it, he's a guitarrist and that's the way he approches to his bass playing, anyway we haven't got any option. Hope Claudio's voice won't be fucked up for our next shows because we can tell that after rehearsing one hour his throat is killing him, but we are going to play half an hour shows only so it wouldn't be a problem.... AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!

We've been going through the new and old lyrics and everything will be ok for the following shows Gordo seems to be very upset, dissapointed, and worried about his future in music but I hope he will feel better in a couple of weeks. As I mentioned before rehearsing starts again this week and we'll see how things are going... hope the best for this strange times for sordid. Lot of interest in seeing us playing live at Notre Dame it'll be a new experience. Honestly I'd really like Gordo, Gato and Me reach the best with sordid but from time to time things turn pretty fucked up and maybe now we are unable to see the light but at the moment everybody is ignoring the bad vibe and just waiting to play our next shows and rock tha House!
Sometimes I wonder Was it really worth it?

This blog thing has started just when onother one of us is about to leave our country to fucking Europe, we wish him the best and we hope he will enjoy Italy and let us know if is it true that this country is full of extremely beautiful women and old men.
Currently we should be rehearsing but we are not. We have a show in two weeks time and a big one in 3 so I hope rehearsing will start again this week new songs are pretty catchy and heavy and the singing might be the best ever, since Gato and Gordo began composing together the best of Sordid has seen the light!!! Claudio has managed to find the perfect way of giving the new tracks the perfect combination of power and harmony.....Let's see how this shit works from now on we'll keep you informed bye mates.
Drinking Fucking Fighting demo is available if you want it there's a copy waiting for you
